Liquor Scam of Delhi:
The CBI has filed a charge sheet (charge sheet) against former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in Delhi's New Excise Policy (2021-22) scam case. Sisodia has been made an accused in the charge sheet. The agency has filed the charge sheet in the special court at Rouse Avenue. This is the second charge sheet filed by the CBI in this case. The CBI has invoked provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act besides sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 201 and 420 of the IPC. In the charge sheet filed in the special CBI court, the agency said the larger conspiracy and role of other accused in the case is being probed. The last charge sheet was filed by the CBI on November 25, 2022. It has been alleged that the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 for granting licenses to liquor traders favored some dealers who allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge strongly denied by the AAP. The policy was later repealed.
